Ever wonder if there's a parallel between the so-called 'war on terror' in Afghanistan?

and the U.S Army's attempt to catch Pacho Villa just before the U.S.'s entry into WW1? I do,since they seemed to be,to me at least, both more like training exercises for the real War just to come;namely WW1 & Gulf War 2,respectfully.
